We have to kick-off the day with sad news. Leonard Nimoy has died at the age of 83 following a brief illness. According to the New York Times the artist had been hospitalized earlier this week with end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Everyone knows Nimoy from the Star Trek films, including the new ones. He also worked as a director on Star Trek: The Voyage Home. Aside from his work on Star Trek, he also appeared in TV shows such as Fringe. Leonard Nimoy was also a passionate photographer and author who has some books published under his name.
He was a very compassionate artist, who wasn’t afraid to use the power of his fame to advocate causes he cared about. The actor definitely left his mark in the world and this is a huge loss.
Rest in Peace, Leonard Nimoy
