Felicity Jones will probably be in the first Star Wars spin-off

Felicity Jones, who got a best actress Oscar nomination for playing Jane Hawking in the Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything, is most likely to star in one of the upcoming Star Wars stand-alone films. It appears that now she is in talks with Lucasfilm and Disney to be in the spin-off directed by Godzilla‘s Gareth Edwards and the recently hired writer Chris Weitz. Among the other actresses eyed for the role there were other huge talents such as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara and Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black. Honestly, I thought Maslany was going to get the role because according to Jeff Sneider from The Wrap she dropped out from a play last week, and if you connect the dots…

Aaron Paul and Edgar Ramírez are rumored to be up for the male role. These are two very different actors, so we can probably scratch the possibility that one of them will be playing young Han Solo. This seems to be the bounty hunters movie everyone is talking about. According to Badass Digest‘s Devin Faraci, his sources say this is not a film about bounty hunters, this is actually a film about pirates. He explains, and it’s really clear if you have seen the original Star Wars films already: Bounty hunters are the guys who chased Han Solo, while the pirates are the guys who are Han Solo.

Felicity Jones is one the best things about The Amazing Spider-Man 2  and she gave a great performance in The Theory of Everything. She is an actress that I have supported since the beginning of her career and I’m happy about adding her into the Star Wars universe.
