One of the last articles that I wrote for the site in 2014 was a rant about the new live-action adaptation of the Fantastic Four, you see, I’m not thrilled with this movie. I heard about everything that happened in the film and I completely lost my interest. Anyways, some people in the business have seen rough cuts of the movie and they say that the reboot of the Marvel family is actually a good time. But the film is doing some reshoots.
The crew is returning to Louisiana to reshoot some other stuff. Perhaps, they will add more action scenes or will try to have some more bits with the team because I’ve heard they’re not the Fantastic Four until the end of the movie. Not in the last three minutes, in the third act. You understand.
Devin Faraci from Badass Digest also said that he heard the same thing about the movie: it’s good, but also he heard that this movie it’s a mess. However he says that the people that told him the movie was bad probably saw a cut where visual effects are not done. The Thing in this movie is most likely to be full CGI, and of course all of the powers of the team need to be generated by computers.
I’m starting to have faith again about this movie, because I was really excited back in July of 2014 and I raged about the film near the end of the year when the bad news started to fill the movie sites. Rumor says the new Fantastic Four feels like Chronicle 2, which for me is not a bad thing. Maybe this is actually a great movie, let’s just wait for the first trailer before Valentine’s Day.
