The Ant-Man teaser is here

By: Marv Castillo

I’m not going to lie when I say I’m not fully interested in the Marvel TV shows, but I had to see Agent Carter to get a look at the first Ant-Man teaser. I’ve been expecting this movie for a long time, since Edgar Wright was involved and that was years ago.

It enfuriates me when I read comments on YouTube saying this is a short and disappointing trailer. This is a teaser and it gives enough.

Tone is confusing in this trailer, we start with a very motivational speech given by Hank Pym, who is played by Michael Douglas but all the Paul Rudd’s lines kinda mess with the serious tone that the teaser is trying to make clear. However, the same thing happened with Guardians of the Galaxy. I was hoping to get something lighter since Paul Rudd, Peyton Reed and Adam McKay are involved in this one, but I understand Marvel is trying to show both funny, action-packed and serious spots of the movie. I expect to see a clear tone of the movie in future trailers for the movie, just like in Guardians where we saw funny trailers but also others that explored a different temperature.

I’m glad this is not a movie where the hero is trying to save the entire world and we are finally getting more diversity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where problems are always huge and most of the third acts consist in the similar pandemonium of death and fire. This could be the start of the different stories the studio is trying to tell in their Phase 3.

The action in suit looks amazing, it really looks like a lot of fun. I can’t wait for Ant-Man.

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
