Many were speculating that the voice over in last week’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser was provided by none other than Benedict Cumberbatch and I didn’t agree, even if the voice sounds too much like Smaug. It reminds me of Smeagol and Gollum, but deeper… and who makes those voices? Exactly, Andy Serkis.
It was recently confirmed that the voice in the teaser belongs to him, but there’s the rumor that Mr. Serkis may be playing two roles in Episode VII. According to Jedi News we will see him both in-the-flesh and in a motion capture performance. Serkis is expected to be joined by Parkour expert Pip Andersen and Crystal Clarke.
The rumored regular role will be at the beginning of the film. We reported about the first minutes in the movie, which are actually not spoilers, but anyways… if you really hate to know stuff about upcoming movies you should leave, like, now.
Serkis is playing – and we are still talking about the rumor – a pivotal role in the first act of the film, who will introduce us to the Daisy Ridley’s backstory. Jedi News cautions this is merely a rumor and nothing is confirmed by now, but this comes from a good source.
