As a quick introduction: I’m not into a lot of Star Wars news, maybe because most of them are lies just to get clicks. But these sources are very reliable. These are not spoilers, know the difference. When you see the movie you will notice that, but if you want to go to the theater and be surprised about everything, skip this.
First nugget: Max Von Sydow will be in the movie, and you already know that. But, who is he playing? According to Faraci’s sources, from Badass Digest, he has a key role that sets the story in motion. Read what Devin has to say about the character:
Remember that I told you the movie begins with the discovery of the lightsaber? Well, it isn’t Daisy Ridley who discovers it but rather a blue alien guy. He brings it to a salvage yard where Kira – that seems to be what Ridley’s character’s name is, or at least what they’re calling her on set – sees it. She’s hanging out there with von Sydow, who is an old cyborg dude, a guy who maybe has dementia. He talks a lot of nonsense. But as soon as that lightsbaber shows up, he gets lucid. He recognizes it. He begins to talk about the old days, name drops a couple of Prequel Trilogy characters, even. And then, after Kira and the alien leave he makes a call to a mysterious figure. “It’s here,” he says. But who is he calling?
That would be a spoiler!
The second nugget: Kira, if you read carefully is most likely to be Daisy’s character. By the way, Daisy Ridley, got the role in Star Wars, but she’s a newcomer and some people doesn’t really know how she looks like. Of course, her career will explode after this, but here you go, before you google her:
You know how she looks like now, but I don’t have pictures of her home in Star Wars, and that’s the second nugget, she has a cool place to live, but the Mystery Box won’t let us see her place. She lives in an abandoned AT-AT knocked over its left side. Just imagine a scene where she comes back home and whe a knocked AT-AT in the desert planet where Episode VII: Title missing opens, that would look nice. If you have enough time, you can read a better description here, I’m rushing this, but I want to share my comments.
Third and final nugget: Faraci says,
You know all those shots from Greenham Common Air Base, with the X-Wing fighters and the Millenium Falcon? That’s a familiar location – it’s the Massassi Temple from the original Star Wars. Yup, they’re back on Yavin IV.
As another little piece of news about the movie, there’s some pieces of concept art that reveal Chewbacca with a cybernetic hand, supposedly lost in a battle after the events of Return of the Jedi. It’s not safe to say that this is going to be in the final cut of the film because other concept art reveal a Chebacca with both furry hands intact.
Faraci also says he hears almost nothing about Leia. Maybe she has a small role.
