Sony is working hard in their new Spiderverse. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 may be a financial success, but this is probably the most disappointing Spider-Man movie of the years. Sony doesn’t really care about that, that’s how films work and they’re moving on with a Sinister Six live-action adaptation written and directed by Drew Goddard — Yes, the guy co-wroted and directed that little, beautiful movie called Cabin in the Woods.
Sinister Six will come out in 2016 and the third stand-alone Spider-Man movie will hit theaters in 2018. Obviously Spider-Man will show up at some point in this movie, Sony needs him. Spidey sells tickets, dude.
Recently, at Toronto International Film Festival, Andrew Garfield was interviewed by Toronto Sun and he said following:
“I know more than I’m allowed to say right now (…) I can say I’m really excited about Drew Goddard, who’s going to be writing and directing The Sinister Six movie. And whether I’m involved in that or not is kind of immaterial
(…) I don’t know if I should say anything right now. But Drew is really exciting. Did you see Cabin in the Woods? Did you like it?”
By the way, check out the lastest Sinister Six images. The first image comes from the credits of the last Spider-Man film, the last is concept art. There you go:
Bonus: I’m a self-promoting bitch. I made this Spider-Man sketch some days ago.
