I have to admit these news make me glad, not only because Iron Man is not my favorite Marvel character, it is also nice to have other property in the big screen other than the core Avengers we have been watching these past few years. Recently, Guardians of the Galaxy – Marvel’s biggest bet – became the biggest summer movie of 2014, it is obvious that Marvel Studios is happy with the box office result and they’re ready to launch more characters into live-action adaptations.
Robert Downey Jr. shared the following comments in Toronto International Film Festival at the premiere of his new film, The Judge:
“There isn’t one in the pipe…No, there’s no plan for a fourth ‘Iron Man.’”
That was cold, Downey, but it is good to read that he is bringing all the rumors down of an Iron Man 4 film. Let’s remember, this statement doesn’t mean the Iron Man franchise is over, it means there is no plan of releasing a new film, yet. If Guardians of the Galaxy underperformed, we would read different comments and Marvel would still milking this character (that sounds wrong).
You, as fan must be happy. Even you love Iron Man, and even if you’re the biggest Robert Downey Jr. fan in the world. This is just another proof that Marvel is one of the bravest Studios out there. Good for you, guys.
